A trio of events in support of the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice

Autumn has begun, and we are delighted to reveal that we will be hosting an exciting trio of activities to raise awareness of the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.

For over 10 years we have had the privilege of supporting this inspiring charity, whose vital work provides specialist care and support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.

Led by our MD and the proud Trustee of this charity, Fraser Silvey, our team have taken part in some fun and quirky activities over the years, from the Gung Ho 5k fun run, to a marathon, children’s activity days, gifted leadership and management training, and festive Christmas parties.

Now we are pleased to be both hosting and taking part in a trio of events that we hope will help to raise awareness of this incredible charity and donations towards making a real difference to those children who need it.

Fraser Silvey said,

“This is a charity very close to my heart and one that I am proud to have been a Trustee of for 5 years now. The work they do to enrich the lives of children and their families is truly humbling. Playing a small role in raising awareness means so much, just a small donation goes such a long way to supporting the fantastic facilities, hours of care and family support. We look forward to maintaining the fundraising momentum over the years to come.”

So what exciting activities are taking place?…

Henley half marathon

The first of our trio is a half marathon at Henley 10k! Our team recently completed the Thames Path Challenge’s unique a 10k loop around the Remenham countryside in order to raise money for this esteemed charity. It was a fantastic day for both our experienced runners and newbies, complete with a BBQ meal and glass of bubbly at the finish line.

To find out more, or if you’d like to make a donation for this event, you can still do so via our JustGiving page.

Moments in Time

The second of our trio exciting trio is a heartfelt book of poems written by Connor’s Founder, Paul Connor. An avid poetry lover, Paul has written a collection called ‘Moments in Time’ which encapsulates the concept of storytelling through time, the experiences we have and see throughout or lives, and the emotions that these evoke.

We hope that this collection of poems brings joy to those who read them – you can access the collection by clicking here.

A twist of opera and modern-day folk

And finally, we are proud to share that on 26th October our Sales and Administration Manager and passionate singer, Catherine Chapman, will be leading a fantastic evening of traditional opera and modern-day folk music, alongside Lewis Spring, and special guest Matthew Spring.

In the tranquil setting of Taplow Court, this concert will take us on a musical journey of two halves. If you or someone you know would like to join us for this special evening, you can buy your tickets here.

The Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice is a vital support service to every child and family who needs them across Berkshire and into surrounding counties. To find out more about the support they provide, visit https://alexanderdevine.org/.
